Botanical Name: Imponoea x “multifida”
Common Name: Cardinal Climber
Description: Leaves have thirteen palmate thin lobes arranged in an odd-pinnate fashion with acute apexes. Leaves look like small fans and are a vibrant green which contrasts nicely against bright red blooms. Blossoms are made of fused red petals that produce trumpets out of which yellow stamens slightly protrude. Reaches 3-6′ in height.
Growing conditions: Best grown under full sun in well-drained soil. Doesn’t require too much watering as it will tolerate dry to moist soils. Fertilize occasionally but be careful not to over fertilize. Grows through a twining stem, may require a support system to “twine” on.
